A big thanks to the rover mg parts boys!

I just wanna say a massive thanks to George and Justin.. hope i got his name right lol. They did a bloody good job on my zed despite her fighting them all the way inc a few interesting discoverys.
Left at 5am and with rain and traffic we got there at half 10, he offered to run us to the station so we could pop to Nottingham and wait the 6 hours it was gonna take there.. got the first call about a hour in... 'these are the belts it left factory with' thats norr poss i said its got a belt change in its history, but sure enough rover can be seen on the belts... so we thought its either forged or the prev owner got shafed soooo my belts etc had done 95000 miles... or so we thought..,
A few hours and another call... 'this is not the original engine' wtfh! I replied... its got scrappy marking on it... now im pissed and worried because thats deff not in the history and what really annoyed me is george saying it was a sloopy job to... hidden cable ties and loose bolts... engine bolts (i think)came off with one hand and no effot! Oh and they smashed the return for the rad and glued it back on, thankfully george had a spare.
Justin worked bloody hard on that car and we got her back at just after 8pm and got home at just after 1 because or weather etc.
I can pm people the price i paid inc the rad if they like.. i was good!
Got to see tbsteves moster and it looks epic a awsome bit of work and a credit to whar they can do.
He's a busy man both work and private livez at the min so be patient and he will get back to you!

Have you got any pics of these scrappy markings?

It's amazing what you discover about your car!

Good thing it was discovered and sorted before anything bad happened mate :)

lawrence-zs180 13-01-11 08:55 AM

No mate i dont sorry., why?
I konw phate its grim but she all better now.
Oh and one more thing... gary, kev i have to agree the engine note does change she sounds epic now... and more responsive.

Depending on the marking, you might be able to trace it back to the scrappy who sold the engine and determine a little bit about the engine or car's history.

I'm also curious as to where this marking was put on the engine :)

lawrence-zs180 13-01-11 09:07 AM

Not clue but i will ask him and see if he can remember what they where etc

GT- 13-01-11 09:08 AM

Sorry, I thought you had already seen them :)

Great you got a good deal, sounds a bit like the previous owner was a bit of a blagger.

Still least its sorted, did George change any fiters, if not I think I would go right through it now.

I would give it the full big service, plugs, filters, change fluids, then you would know what you were starting with.

A happy :chef:.
