Off She Goes

My zs finally gets picked up and taken to dundee to get the niggles sorted today, though lords knows what they will leave me as a courtesy car!!! Please not a Pug, anytime i get courtesy cars it's nearly always a pug and not a single one have i liked:( List has grown slightly since i got the car, but should all be easily rectumfied:sheep:

1 - Poor Starting
2 - Noise from rear, think brakes are sticking slightly
3 - Knocking noise from rear n/s, an have heard a 'boing' twice now on a sharp left hand corner
4 - Locking wheel nut key needs replace
5 - Rear o/s tyre has slow puncture - they gave me the car with this tyre at 5psi, dont think they were thorough with their checks!
6 - Leak in drivers footwell, thanks to 200bubs for pointing out the bonnet release as the probable source!
7 - Clicking and cracking from clutch in heavy traffic, possible cluctch master + slave

They all sound fairly minor niggles......as for your sharp left hander........check your exhaust ;) I bet it is the tailpipe nudging the exhaust heat shield. Mine does that frequently whenever I go to a certain place where there is a pot hole for the o/s to clobber........the exhaust is then jarred into the shield :)

Brakes........well you got some choices......MG Rover ones or as quite a few seem to head for......the Mintex route.

Bet you can't wait to get the beast back eh! :mml:

Pugs aren't that overly bad. ;) I had a 206 HDI van when i was working for Royal Mail. That thing flew... :)

Should all be easily fixed. All under the warranty too?

The boing is fairly common.Usualy nothing to worry about,it's just the springs twisting & boinging back

Ah well thats reassuring, thought the springs were ready to snap lol!! All should be done under warranty, think the brakes just need stripped and cleaned, though things are improving as the days were going by eg starting was getting better and brakes were making less noise but the problems were still there!! Sorry have to disagree with the pugs, really do not get on with them, specially the 306!! The car was picked up at about half 12 today, can you guess what i have??

Only clue is it's korean :D Not driven it yet, but heading to work in a wee bit:)

Oh yes, got it in one:L It's a Kia Mingetis!! I shall report back in the morning with my view on it!!

Oh dear god, its worse than I thought... We have had Kias at work, and every branch tries to get rid of them. Of the family, we have/had Picantos (perky engines but just really cheap and nasty), Ceratos (again very fast, not quite as bad as the Picanto, but not great either) and your Magnetis. The thing belongs in the ocean.

Out of curiosity which hire company is providing the car...?
