Missing the forum style

With looking for a new 180 and using the Facebook pages as it has the highest traffic. It absolutely makes me miss the forum style and the good people!

Funny thing is I am looking to reduce my "fleet" and at the moment the 180 is going to be the first to go!

Too many projects and not enough time in the day at the moment... :joker:

I know what you mean about the differences between the forum and the facebook styles, I see it across the board (on other car clubs, not just the one!).

I still think at some point it will go full circle though and will come back to forums again.... But lets see :)

I hope it does. This forum was the best and most popular place I hung out. And met great people. Moving to the 6 didn't help but even those forums are a bit quiet. But I'm not a facebook fan so it's not ideal!
I did post on facebook what I was looking for though and seems there are far too many cheap projects and nobody willing to part with their excellent spec 180's!

And the boomerang zs strikes again....

What you looking for....I'm always looking around ?

Smokey 15-05-19 07:29 PM

I've always wanted another one but we had no need for a second car. The 6 is also not as exciting!

Copied from facebook but I'm obviously flexible on some things and wont be paying top prices for under par ones!

MG ZS 180 mk2
Saloon
Paintwork must be in decent order
No concerning rust, especially underside/paintwork
Everything must work (electric windows, air con gassed, radio, heated seats if present)
Mileage no more that 70k but must have had recent belts job
Service history/parts replaced would be nice
Seats in good condition (alcantara/full leather preferred)
Working via motors
Induction a nice bonus
Remapped would be amazing but not important
Other mods I'd be interested to know
S/S exhaust. Prefer twins but flexible
Bumper sag fixed or at least no crack in rear bumper
Must have long mot with advisories fixed or listed
Flexible on colour

Probably other things but clearly I want a nice, well looked after 180 so I can have a year of 'fairly' hassle free driving. I have the cash but won't settle for something I'm not 100% on unless the price is right.

I probably won't go over £3k unless it's super special. There is one blue one on facebook that I really like but he values it £500 more than me unfortunately, else I would have it!

I know that feeling, I was going to offer you some parts to clear the shed and keep Mrs TC on side.

Good budget but you are looking for a good one with that mileage and belts done.... Fingers crossed.....

Smokey 16-05-19 09:52 AM

Yeah, I know there is a limited amount of low mileage ones around!

I do owe you those wheels back at some point!

My plan at the moment is to get the 180 and the T series back to a good or excelent standard and then see how I feel.

I think the fact they are off the road is what is bugging me more than anything. I put the F back on the road a few weeks back and have been loving it since then! (And I was going to scrap the F before it finally scraped through an MOT)

Add to that the fact the 6 requires about £1500 of repairs (Flywheel and clutch mainly) and that might be the reason I am feeling down with cars right now.
