Heres a diagram of the 120 throttle body, It doesn't have an iacv like a 180, instead it uses a stepper motor, probably worth giving the connectors a clean, and checking the pipes for leaks.

Thanks Pete, will have a look tomorrow.

Ok, just did the test, 40 at idle revs. It doesn't rev high when you put your foot down, just labours so that rules the clutch out?
Then it wouldn't start, after a few attempts it was barely idling. Put my foot down and it crept to 4k revs then opened up as usual but kept wanting stall when my foot was back on the clutch. Any ideas? * |
Just read through this and to be honest Im just throwing my little bit in.
Have you got too much slack in throttle cable ? or is throttle body valve opening fully ? |
Had a look earlier but couldn't see anything sinister.
Got the breakdown man coming out tomorrow so hopefully he can get it going. Thanks for all your replies :) |
Garage have just phoned to say they think the cambelt has jumped.
Anyone heard that before? |
It isn't unheard of, if it has jumped hopefully it wont have done any other damage.

Something else that could have happened, and I only know about this from a post on Rovertech, is that the timing belt drive pulley has slipped on the nose of the crankshaft, it is a taper fit apparently and doesn't have a Woodruff key to locate it.
*edit* the cam gear locates on a flat on the nose of the crank. Link to RT thread http://www.rovertech.net/forum/viewt...p?f=3&t=137518 |
Funny you should say that. The garage just phoned to say the pulley is wobbling around like a *******. Will give the garage a ring to let them know.

Well the IACV didn't work, nor a new throttle body.
The sensors have been cleaned but still nothing. Looks like I may have to break it which would kill me but I can't keep throwing money at it. Such a shame as I thought it was running well recently.
