Insurance What a rip off

Just had my yearly renewal notice through today, £642.60p which i think is a rip off. i'm 23 been driveing 5 years with 5 year ncb, for my ZR 160.
Just done a search online and the ame company for the same policy want £526 so i phone them to see whats going on and low and behold all the operator says is thats the price and you have to pay £642. So now i've got the hump with them, i did a search with gocompare.com and the cheapest i find in £359 or £424 with protected no claims from more than.
Where do some of these companys get there figures from.

make you laugh the prices, it was the same for my van insurance, same company that i have the insurance with but i saved £120 this year just from changing broker, its a joke

They all do it, was with Norwich Union until the renewal was found to be steep, shopped around and more than halved the premium, now with Admiral with all mods declared. Was £680 and now down to £308.

My 18 year old daughter had her first renewal through today, was expecting something stupid, was surprised, 1 year NDC TPFT for a Peugeot 106, £435, £200 cheaper than the first premium paid. Sometimes it makes no sense at all.

im shoppping around for insurance on my rover 25 atm, got 3 years no claims but seems like age is a bigger factor then the ncb :(

i need to find a company that aint bothered about cosmetic mods

EDIT- Admiral quoted me good! all mods declared aged21 with 3years ncb on my own name - £875...i add my dad as a second driver quote goes down to £600! lol
