Winter Prep (Pic Heavy)

Good evening all,

Wanted to post these yesterday but didn't get chance. I spent Saturday with a couple of friends treating the ZS to some much needed preparation for Winter.

The front wheel arch liner on driver's side needed replacing so this was the first job. I had also managed to source the rear passenger side arch liner which protects the fuel pipe so this was fitted too. While we were doing this we took the opportunity to remove all the wheels, degrease and clean the arches, treat a couple of rust patches and then waxoyl them. Was pleasantly surprised that after 8 years the rust was very minimal and only surface rust. It did however highlight the sorry state of the brakes so new discs and pads will be ordered asap.

Interior wise the car was treated to a steam clean on all carpets, seats and headlining. The leather was also treated with Autoglym Leather Care Balm which has done an amazing job in re-mositurising the leather which was looking very dry and creased.

I also fitted some chrome kick plates and my chrome mirrors off the ZR to personalise it more to me.

After all this the car feels like it has just left Longbridge! Felt very proud driving it home :mml:

Anyway here are the pics:

Nice work! Looks very clean in those arches now!
I have every intention of doing mine when I fit the new brakes.
I'll see if I can get as good a finish as that!

Not sure on the chrome mirrors but they do add a bit of difference to the car.

Looking like its just left the factory, got the chrome door kick plates on my one.

Interior came up well.

Trouble is no one will be allowed in it and you wont take it out in the wet.

Cheers everyone for the comments and feedback. Very happy with how the car came up, not bad for nearly 9 years old!

It's having a new set of discs and pads next week along with having the cam belts done so will have full piece of mind after that (and a significantly lighter wallet!)
