ZS 180 wanted

Hi Guys, I am after a ZS 180. It has to be mint, low mileage, with full service history and preferably with the cambelts been changed, and preferably not modded.

Used to have a 214 SEI many years ago, we currently have a Focus (boring) and fancy something with a bit of poke and isn't common as muck.

There seems to be very few near me (Oxford)

My Budget is up to £2k.

If you know of any please let me know.

Cheers

Mike

It does seem like a bit of an ask. There are a couple I am going to go look at hopefully this week. We don't need it till end of December when our Focus goes back, but the sooner I get it the longer I get to drive it before 'her indoors' destroys it.

Agree with Stamford, but "Don't ask, don't get". :)

There is one in North wales http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1237726.htm its not had the cambelts changed and there is an ABS warning, might ask if he would take £1500 but might just wait for something else to turn up. Would really like a trophy blue one.

Thanks for the welcomes BTW.

Cheers

Mike

Just done Belts on mine... :) its an 03 model in Trophy Blue and can be put back to standard very easy... or you can continue on the quest for a MK2 conversion ;)

I'm after a ZT or 75, hence possibly selling...

Also I know someone selling a 52 plate totally standard trophy yellow 180.... ;)

Whats be mod'd on your mate and whats the details of it? My missus won't have a yellow one, although I actually like them.

My Blue one... It has MK2 lights, MK2 front and rear bumper, MK2 wheels and a stainless exhaust system... nothing that has made any difference to insurance...

Also waiting to go on (haven't sprayed them up yet) is the entire MK2 180 kit... so you could have the car looking like a MK2...

Whats the mileage and history mate? Have you got any pics? How much are you looking for?

Mileage is currently 88,000 (belts done less than 100 miles ago) and its got full MGR Service history up till local dealer went bust, then I've done all servicing (except belts) from then.. got all receipts etc in my safe IIRC...

There are pics around... try the Leeds Castle Meet threads ;)

Its now a lot cleaner than that :)

Price... no idea at the moment, I need to find a replacement for the car first :)

madmike01uk 27-10-09 01:26 PM

could be interested, let me know if and when you want to sell.

ZS 27-10-09 02:01 PM

If your in Oxford then your more than welcome to come down and have a look at it?

starfire039 27-10-09 04:05 PM

Mick if I wasn't at uni now I would buy your car off you right this second no questions asked!!!

To be honest, I doubt you will find a mint 180 for £2k. You could get one, but to get a true clean 180 with no work required and belts done you are looking at 3k judging by autotrader and ebay prices.

madmike01uk 27-10-09 05:32 PM

I am going to look at one on Thurs, 44k miles full service history 8 stamps including belts done at 36k for £2k. Supposed to be mint with no problems. He said its a little bit tappity cold but quite as when warm apparently they are all like that? Fingers crossed.

RudeDogg1 27-10-09 06:41 PM

not all its a common thing called piston slap i think its called

afcbadam 27-10-09 07:16 PM

if its a 180 its proberly the plenum. budget £500 for this.

none of my 180 have been tappety when cold. or hot.

madmike01uk 27-10-09 09:22 PM

I will give it a good going over, could it just be the purge valve? I must admit all this Plenum/VIS problems is really starting to put me off buying one.

Don't let that put you off, I have had mine 4.5 years and loved every minute. I have had said issues and is part and parcel of any car tbh. Could be worse, you could have a BBQ Lambo ;)

Bobdope2002 03-11-09 09:58 AM

Mate just a hint mine is up for sale for £2500 if your still looking
