Not sure how well they would work as the reflector is designed for the light to come out of a normal 501 shaped bulb, know some guys that have used similar ones for fog lights, they are happy with them.

Ive got single white LEDs in my sides and rear plate lights. They work really well, they started off bright white and are now like a off white blue colour. Got mine from halfords.

I got fedup of constantly replacing expensive bulbs when they blew, so went for something cheap 'n' cheerful!

Headlights: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...#ht_1936wt_939

Sidelights: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=380202409111

I am really shocked how good they both are, the headlights give off a nice crisp white light that more than equals the Nightbreakers I had before.. And the sidelights give off a nice white/blue light, and reflect perfectly within the main beam reflector! :)

I've now used these, Osram Nightbreakers and Philips X-Treme Vison and the Ring bulbs are IMO the best (and cheapest!)... Don't know how long they'll last, but as bulbs only last a few months in my Zed I can't really give a fair comment!

EDIT: Don't have a side-by-side shot as my phone wasn't man enough for the job, but this gives you a rough idea of the light output:
