bought a 52mm throttle body from a member here last week, could anyone check the part number?

The part number is MHB 000080, as I know that this is actually a 48mm TB, not the one I should received. The 52mm's part number should be MHB000261, is that right??

I just need someone's confirmation then I'll ask for a full refund + postage and then post it back to him.

hope this problem can be solved soon.:slap::slap::slap::slap:

ZS Phil 01-12-10 01:43 PM

why dont you just measure it? If it meansures 48mm then its a 48mm one and if it measures 52mm then its more than likely a 52mm one ;).

part number indicates the actual size, I think I should choose to trust maker's measurement...

shouldn't post pm records here, sorry for that.

ZS 01-12-10 05:10 PM

Airing PM's in public is not a good idea... they are PRIVATE messages and should probably stay that way!

From the pictures its hardly conclusive if it is a 52 or 48 throttle body, I can't see any Part numbers in either picture... plus whats to say you havn't swapped them over already and are just trying to get something for free like the BMC? - By no means am I saying you did, just whats to say you didn't? :)

Sorry if this causes offence or anything, it wasn't meant that way... Just everyone always forget that sellers get conned sometimes too!

mate, to be honest, I can't understand throughly what you said here due to my poor english, to some point, It does cause offence! I wouldn't blame you as you don't know clearly what's going on here and I never expect you know that.

and I don't care wat u saied. the turth is I didn't get what I'v paid for. I'm a Chinese student and my knowledge about motor is fking poor, it's not easy for me to figure out what's the difference between 48MM TB and 52MM TB.

But I have confidence in this matter, wat I'v got is a 48 TB and I won't pay 50 quid for this.

free bmc? wat do u mean?

This should be resolved via pm and not dragged through the open forum, end of!

Just measure it to tell if it's a 52mm, :slap:

Simon's ZS-120 01-12-10 10:49 PM

Wow banta.com but yeah get a measuring tape out and bobs your uncle you will have the size and take a pic of both the throttle bodies side by side that way the seller can see the one he sold you and your one if you know what I mean. I think I know what I mean sorry if this causes any more problems but it's the best way to resolve a situation

I just want get wat I paid for, that's all.

I don't need this fking fake BMC and seller didn't transfer the postage cost to my bank account and I asked him, he said he don't need it, cause he admitted that his item is a fake one and he apologized for this

you can say whatever you want, you can even say you measured it and it was 56mm for sure, but according to the part number, this is a 48mm TB.

why you think I'm a picky and tricky guy??????????

I just wanna justice, just wanna get wat I paid for.

seller said this TB got 52mm stamped on it, but this is not ture, you can judge from the pics I uploaded here!!! he lied to me!!! This is not just a mistake, this is intended, isn't?

Apparently, this TB is 48mm, why don't you trust the part number?

The truth is I'm the victim and you said that I just wanna get something for free ???? why keep insulting me?? ??

and seller promised that he gonna refund me 50 quid+ 3 quid(postage cost)

so far I didn't receive the moneny for postage, so I'm not gonna post it back until I reveice it.

Indeed, seller beware

mgzsturbo2008 03-12-10 08:09 AM

Just sent him his 3 quid postage. one phrase springs to mind "FIRST CLASS *****"

Seriously if a tb has a 52mm butterfly it is 52mm who cares what the fuking part number says!

and as for thinking i intended to do this on purpose the answer is no. The 52mm stamp is hidden under the bracket which supports the wiring loom for the inlet manifold. In my garage i have endless amounts of **** and for the life of me cant remember what i have and havent got all i knew is i brought a 52mm tb for my zr and thats what i sent him.

?50 posted mate and its almost new condition.

petet16 03-12-10 09:07 AM

The part numbers on EPC don't show the sizes.

If the butterfly is 52mm, then its a 52mm t/b.

marts66 03-12-10 09:43 AM

I thought the 48s were plastic and the 52s metal?

Ooooh, wish I'd known that before going off to buy mine. I bought it because it was alloy thinking it must be right. Anyhoo got the right one by chance as I did measure it, part numbers splart numbers!

The 2 part numbers quoted by the op are both metal.

The MHB000261 is shown as fitting a ZR160 from vin number 600076 onwards,
and the other MHB000080 as being for a K series, high performance.

Either way makes it a 52mm

Perhaps someone could post a pic of a MHB000080 with a ruler across it, just to clear up the confusion.

As for quoting posts on .org as sources of good info....lol

The phantom throttle body, was it a 48 or 52...no one will ever know.
