As if it wasnt cold enough!

Jumped in the car this morning and stuck the heating on to defrost the window, the climate control system started ticking and the display faded then the heating died. Nothing on any settings.

Assume it a relay. Anyone know which one its is or even better anyone got one?

Have you had a look in the engine bay fuse box, it could be one of the relays in there, I'd go outside and check mine, but it's snowing again.

No not yet just drove to uni and in a lecture at the min, will check when I get home. I'd guess its a relay as was a constant ticking that sounded like a relay before it died.

A couple of fuses worth checking F4 & F9 in the engine bay, and F26 in the passenger fuse box, the relay is in the engine comp fuse box.

Cheers Pete gives me somewhere to aim at.

Well all the fuses seem fine, just ordered a relay so hopefully that will do the job.

Well the relay came today and has made no difference.

So I'm back to square one, know on the Mk1's there are the resistors that adjust the fan speed, what controls this on the MK2?

petet16 30-01-13 03:33 PM

Resistors in the heater box, but different to the mk1 style, they're nicknamed hedgehog, and are expensive new, sadly

If its climate control its a transistor set I believe.
And by all accounts they are expensive!
