well my baby's failed and it look's like it's going to cost to much some electrical problem's and ABS isn't working so not sure what to do but she might get broken up, only way to get any money back. :(

If the ABS is the reluctor ring, its a cheap fix. Whats wrong with the electrics?

some black box that runs most of the electrics, i was told it's £600 on its own. and the ABS they said they didn't know what it was so they would have to look plus the inlet manifold is knackered and the cam belts are coming up very soon it's all mounting up.

Such a shame..... Although they sound like they're having you on.

Id get a 2nd opinion. If you're referring to the ECU, it certainly wont be £600. You could check the ABS rings yourself if needs be.

The belts are not quite as daunting to do as they seem (apparently) so if you're useful with spanners you could give it a go yourself or get one of the mobile mechanics on .org to help you out, they are very reasonable.

Whats wrong with the Inlet Manifold?

PS if you scrap it i'll shotgun some of your parts :p

It's my local rover garage never had a problem with them before, its not the ECU its a black box behind the dash.

Bcu?

They are having you over IMHO - get a second opinion mate and we never or very rarely have to buy new stuff as someone on here's nearly always got bits lieing around to help or breaking one ....

As for the belts - run it till it really needs them would be my advice .... a new engine can be yours IF they go for less than the cost of getting them done.

Shame, get a second opinion on that. Plenty of peeps breaking so you can get cheaps parts to try out.

I can see your pain, looks to be getting expensive and is it worth it? I had my belts done and that could have swayed it, but the car is good and better the devil you know.

Very True dan...

Is the car a MK1 or a MK2? is it a KV6?

If it is a MK1 and a KV6 then I may be able to sell you the parts you require for a very good price (although not the reluctor rings as I am sure the ones on this car are scrap!)
