Any back ground info Pete before I attack the bank balance ??

petet16 28-10-13 10:08 AM

I'll have a dig around, I'm sure this car has appeared on one of the mgr forums before, and not in a good way.

sneekyparrot 28-10-13 10:25 AM

Ok Pete cheers,

Car is not far from me and I have seen it before but at the time the guy wanted silly money for it, he still does and I will be surprised if it sells.
I have stuck a bid in and would go to 3k but that's about it. It does look a well put together unit but hey it's just a matter of when rather than if something fails lol.

Will wait and see what u can dig up.

I can't find any of the info I was looking for, but I would ask the seller what they know about the MG sport & racing vin plate, the cars original reg was FB04CVL registered in Nottingham.

talkingcars 28-10-13 01:50 PM

I'm impressed, it has factory fit cruise but why can't you zoom on the engine picture?

Enright 28-10-13 02:06 PM

This is the one I saw at Pride Of Longbridge earlier in the year. It was car of the day as far as I was concerned, and absolutely THE best ZS I've ever seen, bar none. Never knew about the Cat C though.

petet16 28-10-13 02:08 PM

Another oddity with the interior, it has switches in the instrument surround which are then duplicated in the centre console, so is it a mk1 with a mk2 body kit ?.

Go and have a look at it Paul and see what's going on.

A few things would worry me, like an under drive pulley but still running a 7th injector.

big_wasa 28-10-13 02:10 PM

Nice, every thing I would want if I was having another.

Enright 28-10-13 02:19 PM

No, the switches in the instrument surround are the cruise and the headlamp washers Pete. It's definately a Mk2.

petet16 28-10-13 02:22 PM

ok, cheers

Yeah, had my confused for a moment as the cruise switch is normally to the right of the wheel.

sneekyparrot 28-10-13 02:35 PM

Tbh if it had a buy now of £3250 I would of bought it but £4250 is just too much regardless of what has been spent and done, I know having been there before with the mk1 charged motor.
The smaller pulley may just be putting it back to the original size that the kit came with, sprintex dropped boost with a bigger pulley on later kits due to problems. Unlike Gary / Nathan's motor which had an even smaller pulley made up to overdrive the charger.

Still don't think he will get what he wants as the market is sooo small.

But I do miss the whine / noise from the mk1!

Still last time he was wanting 5k plus for it lol.

petet16 28-10-13 02:54 PM

Lot's of watchers though lol

Supercharged_Z 28-10-13 03:50 PM

MMMMMMMMMM

this must be to do with the three units that were imported about 4 years ago to a garage in warwick.

So tempting to bid but the problem is... just if they go wrong then to put it and do it right is so costly.

just noticed it is bridge garage. They were the people who purchased the units from sprintex.

That was why it rang a bell, did they not offer conversions at one point ?, I remember a thread on one of the forums.

No put the chargers on ebay and kept one for himself. One of the ones sold went to a guy in kent way iirc and another went to the blue on on here.

petet16 28-10-13 04:04 PM

ah ok.

Dan1971 28-10-13 04:24 PM

Wouldn't touch it personally.

Not based on any knowledge whatsoever of the car or seller..... just..... wouldn't be for me.

Just wanting a v8 too much lol

Enright 28-10-13 06:21 PM

I remember the chap telling me at POL that he had an SV too - look, it's in the background on the 2nd pic.

peterzs 28-10-13 07:12 PM

saw that!!

sneekyparrot 29-10-13 05:47 PM

2 bidders, anyone on here the other??

Guy stuck the vin plate on as he had a spare from the sv and thought it would look gd.

P.

petet16 29-10-13 05:49 PM

Not me

thanks for the vin plate info

MG ZS STE 29-10-13 06:43 PM

He'll get a close to the "buy it now price" offer and pull it before the action ends.

Supercharged_Z 29-10-13 08:17 PM

i bid but was outbid. Suspect his mate bidding this early in the race tbh.

Supercharged_Z 29-10-13 08:18 PM

would buy it at the current price. I am highest bidder. That would mean I had 26k tied up in cars ... GULP lol

Skillen 29-10-13 09:39 PM

Good luck Ross, looks a well put together example re the bodywork and the interior.
Hopefully the engine is the same :)

sneekyparrot 30-10-13 06:07 AM

Yeah gd look Ross
It looks a real nice car but guy still wanting an un realistic £££, although he must of spent a few quid on it.

P.

Supercharged_Z 30-10-13 06:21 AM

I not bidding any more he wants to much for it plus I just know . Will end up with piston problems lol

MG ZS STE 30-10-13 08:47 AM

Great car and would love it but you better have deep pockets.

realistically ross, what does it need to be reliable ?

Skillen 31-10-13 06:42 AM

Rid of the seventh injector.
Proper management.
Lots of money? Haha

petet16 31-10-13 08:13 AM

6 Red band injectors and dta would make it a whole lot more reliable imo.

petet16 31-10-13 11:05 AM

I see the the zs owners group on fb have spotted this, judging from some of the comments, some people don't know their ar5e5 from their elbows:D.

Skillen 31-10-13 11:28 AM

Is that an open group?
Link?
I don't have FB and want a giggle this dinnertime.

petet16 31-10-13 12:12 PM

Be prepared to wade through plenty of utter bollox, lol

Smokey 31-10-13 12:18 PM

You'd think people on a FB page for ZS's would perhaps sign up to these forums. Most of the chat is pish bar the odd few!

Craig-ZS180 31-10-13 12:30 PM

Some of the comments do make you chuckle. And then some make you cringe :(
