The guy who works on the next ramp to me wants to take it, so shall still see it about!

Got a sports cat put on the car in place of the decat pipe and the car passed its MoT with no advisories - the mechanic commented that the underside had been thoroughly 'undersealed' and the car was in excellent condition, so a big thumbs up to the previous owner 'Captain Slow'
Currently loving the MG! |
Always good to hear :)
|
Fail on emissions when a coil pack went down during the test, but passed with a spare from my stash of spares.
|
Good stuff!
|
Just put my new mk2 180 in for my first mot since ive owned her and she passed with no advisory's ...never had a 180 fail a mot yet...Result
|
Now ten years old and around 74k she passed today after a fail for a wee split on NSF outer cv boot. Even when she failed it was commented that she was mint everywhere else so the auld girl's still got it :D
|
Good result Maxfly, specially with all the salt they put down, up there.
:beer2::beer2::beer2: |
well the zs passed with no advisories, the polo failed, german pile lol, with a rear leaking shocky, and handbrake,so went to scrappys and got a shocky, need to look into the handbrake tho,67000 miles will the drum brakes need replacing or just tighten them up.
|
A really quick way to adjust polo's is get someone to sit with their foot on the brake while you give the drum a quick smack with a hammer, either that or get a screwdriver and lever the adjuster peg down through a stud hole
|
Well done the ZS.

After replacing all disks and pads, the mighty derv got through. I'm sure its because I didnt take it for its 100 mile thrash to clean the disks up.
That will teach me to check the dates when its out of MOT!!! One advisory, wear on the edge of the F/Nearside tyre. Can live with that. Well done Grimmy, I have bookmarked the caliper repair lot, just in case!!:thumbsup::thumbsup: |

Well, I haven't MOT'd a ZS for a few years so was nervous today about putting it in since it is an 11 year old car.
The 180 must be bomb proof, passed no advisories! The beam pattern needed adjusted, exhaust bracket needed welded back on and a new rear tyre (which I new was an issue as it went flat last month. Turns out a nail was responsible) All in all, nothing mechanical so very proud to know the MG plugs on even at 96k miles. |
Good news Blair.
|
good to hear
|
There's always a couple of niggly things that trip you up. Good result.
|
Always good when they get through, even better when they dont throw up any problems.
:smile1::smile1::smile1: |
It is nice to know it's mechanically sound as a whole. Means I can focus on the other niggles like cracked bumper, leaky coolant and the odd rattle!
|
I actually find I am more nervous with the other cars then the ZS when it's MOT time as it never fails me.

MOT prep for the T16 began this week, it's been sorned since October.
First thing was to remove the dehumidifiers, they've done a good job, no signs of mould, or condensation. Next up was to connect a freshly charged battery, it fired up at the first touch of the key, checked all the obvious stuff like tyres, lights, etc, all good, I need to take the angle grinder and wire brush to the front discs to smarten them up a bit. I've been going over it with a clay bar to remove the moss, tree sap, and various other stuff that has appeared on the paint work over the winter. Finally I added 10 litres of fresh fuel and a bottle of Forte petrol treatment, so I reckon next week it'll get booked in for the test, and ptsssh can commence for the summer :w00t: |
Well subaru passed last month with no advises, and the new owner of my old zs (the tech next to me) put it in, failed on 2 c.v. boots....not bad for its only ever fail
|
Good results, Ritchy.
Your engine still going strong in the subaru??? |
Yeah seems to be, touch wood! Exhaust is blowing at the mid section, olive blown I think!
|
Too heavy a right foot??????????
Glad its running well. |
Aurora has a 12 month mot!
Pass today and actually commented on how well she is |

I dropped mine off last night for its MOT. It was last done in July 2013 and only done 3k miles since! The drive there was interesting............I forgot how quick it was! :D Still waiting for the phone call.........:look: |
Well I won't know until I get home as the SRS light is being intermittent during the test apparently, nothing else mentioned so a knife edge pass/fail scenario. If I get lucky then it'll be another year straight through! Hope it does pass as it means I can tax it tonight :D If not I can't retest it until next Weds
