How can I....

Ive just bought a used cam carrier cover (the bit the plug cover bolts to) because the threaded holes on mine for the plug cover to attach to wer fooked.

My question is the paint on it is **** and flaking off how can i strip it back? Can i use nitro morse with out it wrecking the metal?

And what paint can i use thats heatproof?

nitromors would be fine, halfords do high temp paint for about £6 a can, red, black, silver, matt black, they also have extreme high temp paint but that is matt and not very durable, you could always get it powdercoated? probably about £10(thats how much mine costed to do)

i would but dunno if theres anywhere in my town that does it lol ill try the paint

can i use normal sprey paint on the spark plug cover or does that have to be the high temp stuff to?

Ritchy 27-05-10 04:28 PM

if you plastic primer it first then you should be able to yes, but make sure its well rubbed down with panel wipe first so it sticks to it

RudeDogg1 27-05-10 04:48 PM

is halfrauds normal grey primer suitable for plastic (as ive ive got a can of that somewhere)

well i ended up spreying it as the powdercoat place wouldnt answer there phone or email. Halfrauds didnt have any gloss high temp paint so i used there high temp matt metalic black and it looks pretty sweet. Just need to paint the plug cover trophy blue and it will look the nuts
