Fitted TF Steering, now problems

Hi all,

I fitted a TF steering to my ZS yesterday and now i've lost use of the horn and also my indicators don't return after turning left or right :(

I must say though that the steering feels a lot better than the plastic one i had before. I feel i have more control over the wheel.

Speak to haGGard mate .... Mine had some adaptations - a metal collar to cancel the indicators and the wiring for the horn was modified too. Don't how, what or why, but he'll be able to help.

Did you change the ring as well?

The MGTF and the ZS rings are different.

As for the indicators if you look at the back of the wheels you'll see that the ZS on is deeper than the TF, you need to make an adaptor out of a bit of metal tube to fill the gap.

I've fitted a Rover 45 wheel in my ZS

one advantage is that it is a straight fit.

....and a different colour to the airbag .... Looks good though.

Got my hack saw out yesterday and chopped abit off the old steering and taped it onto the TF wheel and my indicators now work. Its a little bit long but it will have to do for now.

Also, took the wiring off the old wheel and replaced the TF's wiring for the horn and it works also.

Thanks for the help :)

It is more of a different finish in reality, I think it looks worse in the photo but it is better than having a Rover badge.

The wheel has the thumb rests on the inside and finger grips on the back, I got the bits to connect the stereo controls today and I have a pile of cruise control moduals and wiring diagrams sitting in front of me.

andy_mgzs, just messaged you back, but looks like youve got it sorted now. Good job.
