exhaust pipe rusted away!

was driving the zed today, when it started sounding like a bloody tractor, had a look underneath and on the pipe before the clip (not the back box side) it has totally rusted away and snapped off! my car is still under warranty and is actually going to the garage on monday to have a new manifold. i just got in touch with the garage and he said he didnt think the exhaust would be covered, i thought surely it would be! so i need to get in touch with the warranty company. anybody know how much a new pipe would cost???

Mine had done that,Kel was driving it at the time and it scared the hell out of her as she hadn't heard/seen a exhaust do that.

You should of had a warranty book and in that book it should tell you what is covered and what is not,Im sure its not covered.

My zed was new straight out of the showroom we found out that all four wheels were well out of alignment that wasn't covered so had to pay for that.

you think everything would be covered, i just had a look on ebay for a center pipe, not as expensive as i first thought.

Mine went in the same place 2 weeks ago too.

how much was it to get sorted?

Wear and tear parts aren't usually covered by warranties.

The pipe was £39.99 from ebay and I fitted it myself. Kwik-fit quoted £120 + VAT.

Mine wasnt covered when it snapped 3 months after buying it!
Get down to powerflow, they make one to suit your needs for around £90.

Think on xpf there was someone this happened to and they managed to get a coupling to do away with that flange joint.
Only worth bothering if rest of exhaust is pretty good though.
