The MGZR - where's it gone?

Anyone know what has happened to theMGZR.co.uk site? Died last night, and doesn't seem to have been fixed yet.

Or have I just been banned?

si3000 11-05-08 02:12 PM

its doing the same with me, says it cant connect to server?!

michaelb 11-05-08 02:16 PM

org is down too. i think they must use the same server as they are usually down at the same time.

Yeah I've noticed they both go down at the same time lately. I was just talking about this on another thread earlier this morning.

Hope it gets sorted soon.

Mat C 11-05-08 03:06 PM

Both sites are associated to Steve Childs - maybe he needs to update his server just like he needs to update XPF, the homepage of that site hasn't been updated since Flinty sold it in 2005 and as such looks shambolic. It was bought for the name, not the passion.

michaelb 11-05-08 03:10 PM

i thought the ZR site was independant.

i know steve owns org and x-power forums but i didn't think he had anything to do with the ZR site.

We had to close the site down as selfish people were using up all the user names, and there is now only twelve names left. If you want to keep your theMGZR.co.uk account, please send £15 via PayPal to ThumpJunkie@hotmail.com.

sarah 11-05-08 05:45 PM

sarah 11-05-08 05:50 PM

TJ in that case, i wont go on there, i'll gather my info somewhere else.

Craig 11-05-08 05:52 PM

They are a cracking little motor. Good on insurance. You can get a 1.1 which will be the cheapest to run as well as 1.4 1.6 1.8 and diesels. Matt on thezr site used to have a cracking 1.1. Handling is perfectly good, main thing to watch out for as you probs already know is the dreaded Head Gasket failure. Older cars shouldnt be too bad for rust. If its a higher mileage one, best to check if the cambelt has been changed.

sarah 11-05-08 05:53 PM

ok.

i know Andy would help me in this, but i also want other peoples opinions, as he does own a TT why would i want his opinion, hed probs tell me to buy an evo or something

rakester 11-05-08 05:54 PM

I'd buy an Evo tbh Sarah :P

Mat C 11-05-08 05:56 PM

And make sure it was registered before 01.03.2001 as being under 1.5 litres you will get the cheapest tax band available.

sarah 11-05-08 05:56 PM

lmao

Rover 211i SE 3dr,registered in 2000 would be £120 to tax for the year and will not be changing unlike most of our cars on here.

Nice one.

Yes you read it right ! There are only 2 tax bands for cars registered before 01.03.2001 - those below 1500cc and those above it. So that's why i will be looking out for one of the very few BMW M3 E46's that was registered in February 2001 as that will be just £200 to tax, a full £230 LESS than the ZS will be !
