Gearbox whine

Think the gearbox might be making a bit of noise, only does it until the car is up to temperature and its not a fixed noise, as in I can start the car and sometimes it will whine sometimes it won't or I can be driving and accelerate and again sometimes it will and won't and finally when lifting off (to hear exhaust burble) again sometimes and sometimes not.

:(

Same as mine :( burbbles nice however hehe

Got my gearbox from that guy who has rants on Facebook , banned from every group lol

Like to know the solution other than rebuild :/

I've noticed that mine does from time to time, a bit like a straight cut version, I quite like it! :D Time I rebuilt the spare box I have.

My other thought its a vacuum noise.

I have 2 spare gearboxes. The one in the car, one from the old track car engine and the LSD one in my last car. So I'm all sorted for gearboxes!

A quick fix can be fresh oil.

That's how my gearbox issue started

I have a 620ti LSD gearbox which I'm about to sell, if your interested drop me a PM :)

I am sure I gotta spare 180 box in shed, low milage.
Can't use it myself so it's just sitting there :-)

Something related to having just changed the clutch maybe ?

sneekyparrot 08-05-14 09:19 AM

You did fit a new thrust bearing?
