Bodykit

I've got it into my head at some point that Mk2 bodykit, bumpers, spats etc are rare.

I might be able to get my hands on some bits and bobs from a car being broken due to mechanical issues, not body. Not sure on condition, but is there a need for them ?

Worth my/our while, or waste of time ... ?

Yes definitely. Sold mine for £300

Always worth it I say, we ought to keep some spares in stock as I am starting to look into this.

I don't think you'd lose money on it if you bought at the right price.

Cheers fellas.

Wouldn't look to make money really - just help owners/members, give me something to do and maybe get a few beer tokens my way...;)

Definitely worth buying, and keeping in the garden shed if you can - may well save one a few years down the line when they're really hard to find. :)

A pair of mk2 sill covers in primer are still under £30 from xpart.

So my planned bombed a little.

Basically, there's another thread on an alcantara interior that eventually went for £102.

That seller is breaking a 180 hatch in Firefrost due to mechanical issues. He sent me some images of the other bits he has and had I won the auction for the interior, I'd have made an offer on his other bits. As it happens - I've got nothing - and the Beemer's playing up so don't have any spare dosh.

Anyway - if anyone needs some 180 bodykit bits - that seller has some and will be listing bits soon on the bay of e.

Beemer playing up ?

Hmmm ... fraid so. EML can't be cleared, keeps registering a fault and needs £600 of investigatory work with no guarantee that they will find the fault. Basically rocker cover off, check the engine timing, put it all back together. Warranty won't pay for it as they say, nothing has been found as being broken yet.

Dealer's being very quiet on it, but having had it for a few months and a few thousand miles they are not be interested in helping out cost-wise. I've logged a formal complaint with the dealership and waiting for some feedback.

To cap it all - another fault - electronic steering lock - came on today.

Booked in for Wednesday but it'll be the third time it's been into the main dealer in as many weeks and it's getting a bit tedious.
