Need to up size....maybe a zt
Chaps
Just wondered what you guys think of the ZT? I am expecting a new member of the family and with 1 already I was thinking about a bigger car than the zs. Any advice and thoughts. Dave |
Why? I have 2 kids and had ZSs for years with no issue?
|
I owned a Trophy Blue 190 MKI for 4 trouble free years. Build quality between the ZT and the ZS couldn't be further apart. It's a good 300kg heavier than the ZS, but I found it just as sure footed on the road. Gear change with the cable operated Getrag box is wonderful, and syncromesh on reverse too, for good measure.
I sold mine for no other reason than to help buy a ZS 180. The other half wishes we'd kept the ZT, because the ZS is too hard and crashy, in her eyes. I'm happy though! I, personally, can recommend a ZT. It's in a different league to the ZS. |
Good cars. Well screwed together. Very different though to a ZS. I had a ZT-T and thought it was a decent roomy car with a good turn of pace.

how good or bad is it on petrol though?
Smokey the issue I have is having 2 kids and 2 dogs. The dogs are small and sit on the back seat so once the new baby comes along ill be a bit streached for space. |
The ZT isn't much, if any, wider inside so unless you are considering a ZT-T I wouldn't think there would be much advantage.
Fuel wise a heavier car using the same engine will use more fuel, a larger engine will use more fuel on the urban cycle but should be better on motorways as it will need less throttle to maintain the same speed. |

l can only speak for the 190 I had, which wasn't all that bad, but nor was it anything to brag about! lol. Can't quote any figures because I've never bothered (nor will I be) about fuel consumption. It's a case of drive a 2.5l V6 1.5 tonne car, and take the consumption on the chin. Stop start driving is where it drank it, but on the motorway, excellent economy could be had. |
Mine was the V6 auto 180 .... got about 25mpg ....
|
I am looking at the 190 2.5 ltr to be honest and yeah probably the zt t for the boot space.
|
Do it!
