I'm (still) looking for a Mk2 180... I've had insurance quotes via my usual online insurance comparision websites .... however, most Mk2s offered for sale are modified .... so with a modified car, where should I go for ball park insurance quote?

Good news danny pleased to hear it.

I've just renewed with Admiral. Near enough the cheapest and any difference is worth it for the welsh accent of their call takers. Avivia use Scottish and after the third "I'm sorry can you repeat that" on the phone they tend to get shirty. Can't blame them but I just plain cannot understand the accent with my soft sothern ears.

Now then boyo, it's car insurance you want is it, I'll be with you now in a minute see.

Just renewed my insurance went with sky insurance they gave me the best quote and found them to be very polite, helpfull and efficent. £402 fully comp, protected ncb and that's with numerous modifications on the Zed. Tried couple quotes through go compare, compare the market.com and various others but they quoted really crazy prices.

Re: Car insurance who do you use?

I went with Liverpool Victoria through greenlight. Under £400 fully comp, mods covered with protected ncb. Not bad for 26yr old.

davie0146 27-04-13 07:49 AM

Tesco - £277 a year inc business use, no Ncb previous company car.

peterzs 27-04-13 09:50 AM

Tesco seems a good price, with no NCD.

grimmy 27-04-13 10:33 AM

Just got a quote the other day from swift cover £190

I'm using Adelaide insurance which specialises in HGV and PSV drivers (I'm a coach driver).

talkingcars 07-06-14 09:55 PM

I wonder if they do the same for me with a banker for a wife.

tallgeese 08-06-14 07:38 AM

I'm with echoice, 10 years no claims, £100 excess and fully comp I pay £180 a year which ain't bad I suppose

stamford 22-09-14 12:16 PM

Whilst on vacation I had my renewal through from Adrian Flux, £424! Stuff that. Rang around and spoke to a very nice lady at Peter Best and after joining the MG Car Club to get more discount (finally!) it cost me £138 with all the mods. Daft not to.
