Mk 2 rear bumper with sports kit

As some idiot has ran into the back of my car and cracked and holed my bumper I am looking for rear bumper compatible for a 54plate zs180 with sports kit , any colour will do but black would be ideal, for the moment I have tape holding together, arggh, here's hoping

stoky232 07-04-14 02:21 PM

That's a bit trashed

It might be worth checking around for some quotes to get that plastic welded and painted, it might work easier and cheaper than replacing it.

stoky232 07-04-14 03:54 PM

yes ive tried that option and may be forced to go that way, but when i ask for quotes they say it might be better to get a replacement bumper, talk about going round in circles. at the moment its black tape, doesnt look too bad lol

MG ZS STE 07-04-14 04:30 PM

Must've been some impact. mine stood up better than that.

stoky232 07-04-14 05:05 PM

yea, i think it was the way he hit me, cars still driveable , just doesnt look very good

petet16 07-04-14 05:27 PM

Worth a try ?. http://www.partsgateway.co.uk/mg-par...FczItAodDgMAzQ

stoky232 07-04-14 05:57 PM

Thanks Pete, I have tried but all came back negative

petet16 07-04-14 06:20 PM

I assume it's not going to be an insurance job.

stoky232 07-04-14 07:20 PM

No, paying out of pocket, hence rimmer bros £249, out of the question

petet16 07-04-14 07:45 PM

Yeah, I checked the price of a new one, just in case.

It's going to come down to persistant searches, and cars being broken, it took me ages to find one, I ended up settling for one with less damage than the one I had, which I repaired and painted.

stoky232 07-04-14 07:50 PM

Yea, I think that's what will happen here, m.o.t tomorrow , so more bad news ??

petet16 07-04-14 08:00 PM

mot will be a breeze

MG ZS STE 07-04-14 08:19 PM

Have you tried a search on just "ZS breaking" there are a few mk2 saloons. And don't restrict yourself by only going for ones with the arch extensions as you could reuse your originals.

stoky232 07-04-14 09:00 PM

It's another avenue, thanks I'll give it a try

Mark S 07-04-14 09:12 PM

I have a couple kicking around, but neither are perfect like many people want, 1 is xpg and whilst not perfect it is in good usable condition, it is not something i would post as it would arrive in a million pieces.

MG ZS STE 07-04-14 09:29 PM

My old one was repairable, pic makes it look worse than it was. Sent it to redzed who was going to repair it for his track car I think. Don't think he's going to need it now though as he's emigrating. Might be worth asking him if he doesn't need it anymore and how much to repair it?

petet16 07-04-14 09:31 PM

I agree about posting, unless you have a humungous box to pack it in the chances are it will end up broken

stoky232 08-04-14 07:23 AM

Zs breaking suggested by mg zs ste looks a good place to try, if I haven't got one soon I might try the repair route

stoky232 08-04-14 02:43 PM

Thanks guys for all the suggestions, but each breaking site I went on most of the cars were rear Enders, so no good to me. However, took the car in for m.o.t today and only had to have hazard switch changed. One of the guys there did a quote for me for repairing the bumper and said he had repaired worse than my bump, so it goes in next Wednesday, thanks again for the suggestions.
