Headlamp De-Burring

Bought a pair of new Lucas Headlamps for the Gte a few years ago. Both have built up a little Misty film on the insides of the lenses.

Bearing in mind, this car does not get used in the dark and until recently my garage was pretty damp.

Although I can get inside the lamps it is somewhat restricted. I managed to get a cable tie in there and it left cleaner lines when I touched it across the surface.

Really need something that will clean them without any elbow grease being required.

Was thinking of a spray or filing them with soapy water then hair drying them?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Many thanks in advance.

could you pour some beads/crystals in that you could shake around and clean the glass up??

Just a matter of getting the right stuff to jiggle around.

Maybe foam cut up, plus the soapy water idea, might work as well.

Good Luck.

Thanks Pete. Worth a try. Just looks awful.

What about using 'pipe cleaners' from a craft shop? These are quite soft

It's quite a large lamp tbh. Think I'll try some vinegar and water wash to start and see how we go. It's like the film that builds up inside your car windows although you don't smoke and they never get misted up. You wonder how it happens.
