T16 2.0 turbo

A friend is selling the T16 turbo from a Rover Vitesse... any use to anyone on here?

Ideal for a track car or engine upgrade :pirate2: I'm quite tempted to buy it myself and drop it into something silly small ;)

is it a 180bhp spec in a vitty?

Maxxed_Ross 18-09-08 06:24 PM

I'm not too sure dude

IIRC youngy had a couple of 800 turbo engines and I think they are slightly different spec to the 220 tubby

200BHP is standard for a 820 Vitesse Turbo

What's the exact 'cc' of this engine? My club has limits of turbo charging in the class I am thinking of. I'm guessing it is a 2.0?

The 800 Vitesse was 180bhp,
the 800 Vitesse sport was 190bhp.

There are some difrences between the 800 engine and the 200/400 engine, mainly sump being shallower on the smaller cars and the direction of the water pump outlet but both are easly changed.

Also the 200/400 ran an oil cooler.

Yes, it was a 4 cylinder 16v 1988cc engine IIRC.

The sump in the 600 Ti is diffrent again and is not so easy to interchange, bolt hole size is diffrent in the block.

Where is the engine, how complete is it and how much?

Maxxed_Ross 19-09-08 06:05 AM

The guy says it's out of an 820, he has the whole car but has pinched the gearbox from it

You're right about the sump, it would need one from a Tomcat if you wanted to fit the engine into the likes of a ZR
