Gear Changes
Right Its Time To Address This Problem On The ZS that makes me want to Burn it
Im gonna find this very hard to explain but ill try........ when the car is in neutral the gear stick honestly feels like its connected to nothing and wobbles around like a fat man on a treadmill When in gear it moves fine etc sometimes when i try put it into 3rd it crunches Now im just wondering if grimmys and ritchys were the same really and me worrying over nothing it needs addressing though as i want shut in the summer......I have an idea what i want too to replace it |
IIRC it's the bushes in the gear linkage that go and are relatively easy to replace. Sure someone will be along soon enough to confirm or deny.

Mine has done 87k and feels tight. Now I am not sure if the link rod is the same on your box but it has been known for the roll pin to come adrift on the PG1 box causing a sloppy feel.

how does one go about fixing that is it a box out job???
|
If it is similar, Ritchy will know this, then it is an under the car job, easily fixed with a hammer and a punch. However it is a case of checking all likely causes.

Just sounds like the linkage is worn Tim

Dan1971 had the same with his blue derv, think he bought a linkage bush set and his garage fitted them. Not a bad job, just have to get under the car and at the linkage.
