Scots/Northern Members Cambelts POLL ADDED!!

Following on from an earlier thread just though I would see who would be interested in getting their belts done. Guessing as many as possible to make it worth the fella's travelling and also as he likes to have jobs, some in north sassenach land for the return home:) *NOTE* This is only to gauge interest, I have not spoken to said technician. As for dates well put down when your belts are due and we will see what would be best:)

:Edit: Maybe add if your wanting waterpump doen as extra:)

1) Gary (Maxfly) KV6 Belts due June 2010 + Water Pump

I have mentioned this to Russell to gauge his response and to get a price check due to the travelling involved. I did suggest a non-returnable deposit to ensure everyone who has shown interest does not let him down as this is a long way for him to travel.

Anyway I shall leave that for him to decide.

Again excellent going Tony, would say that in an effort to make it as much worth to Russell as possible you don't just have to have the KV6:) But 6 KV6 belt changes a possibility, good going so far:)

90000 or six years i think.

KevG 11-02-10 07:27 PM

Most of the 180's listed will probably be under 90k, so age comes first!

Right Garry I have spoken to russell and he is very interested his email to me is copied below! Lets try an get a dat sorted for this and a location and some rough numbers and lets go for it. I think folks should travel tot he central belt and lets keep one location. Possibly we should arramge a deposit for him so that A people will turn up and B he has some assurance that we will dleiver for him as well.

Hi Tony,

Sounds like a plan, if there is that many of you plus more needing the belts done I would come up for as many days as it takes.
If you could give some idea when this could take place so I can make arrangements etc.
Group price would be no problem and I'm sure you it will be to your liking.

Best regards
Russell "

KevG 13-02-10 05:29 PM

Thats good news..

We need to get a time and a place, more importantly an under cover place like a workshop etc, so that work can be carried out, with relative comfort for Russell.
If anybody knows of any workshop place that can be hired for say 5-7 days then please let us know.

Tony10 13-02-10 06:11 PM

I cant see it taking that long. I though mick reckoned he could do a kv6 in a couple of hours.

stamford 13-02-10 09:58 PM

Approximately 4 hours.

arwilson80 14-02-10 02:56 PM

Well a (long) weekend would suit me best as i'll need to factor in a ferry crossing...

15th May is out, but 18-20th March would be good as i've already planned to take those days off anyway. ;)

And i'll deffo be there as mine is only 7k off the 90k. :)

Tony10 14-02-10 03:40 PM

Well the wkend in march is a no for me as its my B'day. I think may would a be a good month.

grimmy 14-02-10 05:07 PM

March is totally no use to me as i won't have the cash to get the belts done then after forking out for the clutch.June July would be much better.

I'm with Grimmy, June or July is so much better for me I will have the cash by then, but anything from Now until June is a defo no, no with me, Sorry!

Nor 14-02-10 05:46 PM

Don't mind getting mine done a couple of months early if it's going to mean a good saving, but can't afford to be getting it done 9 months early.

Maxfly 14-02-10 07:34 PM

so looking june/july time as what suits most?? Thats sound with me as money is tight in this area also the now lol:D

arwilson80 15-02-10 09:21 AM

I can probably do June - But not after the 28th as i'll be headed West...

Tony10 15-02-10 11:37 AM

Will I suggest June to Russel? Also have we got a location yet? would Dreadnaught be interested in helping us?

Tony10 17-02-10 12:00 PM

I have emailed Russel! See what he comes back with for the month of June!

KevG 17-02-10 12:39 PM

Tony,

What about contacting Dreadnought, and see if they are available.

Tony10 17-02-10 01:25 PM

I dont really know the guys there at all. I have spoken to Paul twice when I was trying to buy the black MG he had there this time last year. Does anyone have any other deas? I dont think a comercial garage wouls really give over the space to us.

arwilson80 17-02-10 02:17 PM

A 'rally service tent' and line them all up on Lochside Road. :)

stamford 17-02-10 03:15 PM

Didn't someone up that way have a collapsable XPower gazebo?

Tony10 18-02-10 08:35 AM

Allan I think we use Mrs H drive. I hear you have booked your accomidation? I will happily speak to my parents and see if there is any objecion to using our drive and garage. However would folks really want to travel up to Montrose from central blet. And would Russel want to travel that far as well?

arwilson80 18-02-10 08:44 AM

If it suits for it all to happen up that way then yeah i guess you could say accomodation is booked. :) May as well pop in for a bit seeing as i'll be gone in less than a month after that.

arwilson80 10-03-10 03:31 PM

Heard anything further on this?

roverdave81 10-03-10 08:30 PM
