My new (ish) 180

Hi all,

Picked up this 180 about a month ago for a decent price to replace the my mk 1 180 that is now in the scrapyard in the sky!

It's got 80k on the clock with a decent history and new ish clutch with sheddist kit which is a bonus. It's also got brembo calipers on all four corners and a full stainless exhaust; although the back box looks like it's for a hatch.

Things done so far:

Replaced ATC transistor pack (thanks Smokey) and removed the bodge switch override that only allowed the blower to be on full or off
Replaced steering wheel (thanks tb steve)
Upgraded to DAB head unit
Replaced gearbox oil seals and put new oil in (garage job)
Replaced air filter with green filters cotton
Engie oil & filter change

Still to do:

Replace cloudy headlights with clear ones (thanks POMPSKI)
Fit oil catch tank
Get bodywork touched up
Sort saggy bumper
Get driver's bolster repaired
Replace gear linkage bushes with poly kit
Treat the small amount of surface rust underneath and underseal
Upgrade rear windows to electric (thanks goldie), still need appropriate door cards though
Get alloys refurbished

Also the plenum looks a bit like the plastic is degrading (see pic) anyone else seen this?

Comments/suggestions welcome.

Overall I'm pretty pleased!

Tom

great looking car, sounds like you have and will be busy.

Like the interior.

Interested to see the rear brembos as I want to convert mine to a two piston setup.
There's a big influx of XPG recently too!

Glad to see another 180 being brought back to its best :-)

Looking good, sorry you didn't get to use my wheel.

A very close relation to our 180, we're KGK, I'll take a guess that the first owner was MGR.

When I converted to electric rear windows I kept the original door cards and opened the winder hole up slightly to accept an mgf tweeter, it looks oe.

Yeah it was a shame, It turned out that it wasn't quite the correct part number for the mk2 and I want to keep things as oe as possible. How's things going with breaking?

The 'sheddist' looks to be 'a.n. other' as the reservoir is different and in a different location to the aforementioned sheddist. Looks to be decent if the rest is the same standard. It'll be good to see the brake install mentioned.
