kv6 waterpump
What's the average life of a pump?..how many miles are we talking as i am getting mybelts done and got a pump but noticed some small loss of coolant in the header tank..getting it checked for headgasket and pressure test before getting work done

At least 6 years or 90,000 miles, it's recommended to change with the belts.
For the coolant loss check the thermostat in the v between the heads for signs of staining, it's a pretty common problem area. |
also there's two types of water pumps , plastic and metal fins...
Believe plastic was installed from factory so make sure you get the "better" metal ones. |
Got a genuine pump which is a metal type, will probably make sense to do the thermostat at the same time i suppose...cheers

More than likely your thermostat housing mate were your losing your water like others have said its quite a common thing I,ve just replaced mine about 4 months ago .

Change the pump if you are getting the belts done regardless of its condition.
You can tell if it is failing, there will be water coming out of a hole at the bottom of it. |
Pump, cambelt kit with ancillary belt, and thermostat getting done on monday:clap:
