Do I or Don't I

Well thats the question as to wether I sell the zed. Getting fed up putting petrol in it, only to use it on some knob who wants a race! It must be something to do with the ironing board on the back. It's a very hard car to drive slowly so it looks like we may be going for something a little bit more practical. Oh that don't mean a Kia picanto either.

its probably worth more to you than in a trade in or selling. If you dont need to money thats in it i'd keep it as a toy, weekend use etc....

peterzs 16-08-12 05:54 PM

Keep it, let the knobs go.

Until one really annoys you and then!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Easy I know but you need to learn to let it ride. As for putting fuel in, I chuck in over £80 a week and this either the zed (when its working) or the Landy on the weekly commute.

Getting a smaller car is not the answer as you'll only push it hard to get the level of performance you crave for. False economy. Stick to the zed, learn to drive it differently, economically and every now and then hit the loud pedal in the right places ;)

You will soon change your mind when it comes to letting it go for 15 year old fiesta money.

Pears? That's an odd place to put them.

Keep it! I regretted selling our first ZS180, as I watch it's new owner driving off in it I knew I'd made a mistake and it's too late then :(

Keep it I was in a similar position I use a work car for work now and kept the 180 for fun

If i sold mine id get £850 Wich is stupid money but people are obsessed with the price of fuel for some odd reason

No one seems to notice food products have become far more expensive over the last few years so is everyone going to buy Tesco value food I'm sure as he'll not are people going to stop buying designer clothes nope

stamford 17-08-12 07:11 AM

My ZS is in its 8th year of ownership with me and I am not parting with it, nuff said ;)

For what it is worth a remap is worth the money as economy is slightly improved overall, expecially high up when you need it the most.

If you are covering alot of miles over a month then work out what your budget is, what the ZS 180 should do and what an alternative may give you. You'll find there won't be alot in it when you compare running costs. Also factor in the underpowered cars performance and how hard you will push this along and this will affect its book mpg figures.

If you are one to have fun and drive it like you stole it then it won't matter what car you own, you will still not attain the books mpg figures.

Driven sensibly, my 180 does roughly the same mpg as my old 1.6 ford escort. It's the 'sensibly' bit that makes all the difference.

My first car was a Lada 1200 - my father had it from new and I took it over when it was 6 or 7 years old and ran it until it died when it was 11 or 12.
We kept extensive MPG records and in that whole time it always acheived 20MPG, even with the twin choke webber, janspeed exhaust and 15" Lancia Beta wheels and never bettered 16.7sec 0-60.

Smokey 17-08-12 09:57 AM

I'd keep it to, makes sense since they are worth so little!

vanishing days 17-08-12 10:03 AM

Smokey makes a very good point when was looking at selling mine the best offer was £800

kev mocko 17-08-12 10:44 AM

Yep i sold my 51 plate 180 for 950 with 60k on the clock, got a mk5 fiesta zetec s that looked clean, only to find i ended up welding most the bloody thing for its mot,i soon got rid and now back in another 180 again, not only is the comfort a lot better, the fuel isnt a big difference from a 1.6 to a 2.5,to be fair, and im also not having to go and look for rust, theres a lot of car in a zs for what theyre worth compared to some smaller cars,id keep it too pal

Steve mead 19-08-12 07:59 PM

You lot twist my arm any further it's gonna hurt.
