pucc 11-09-12 07:43 PM

Well Pat turned up this morning :thankyou:

Now that i have this, how exactly does it work? as there are no instructions.
What am i looking for once its plugged in?

waynester 12-09-12 04:48 PM

No idea, but I will bounce this back up as I would like to know how it is used it too?

pucc 12-09-12 07:25 PM

Ah ha. Just plugged in and I deffo had a duff power vis.
So swapped it over for a good one and I have :2 green lights on the vis indicator now. I have also tested a spare set of vis motors and they seem to be ok too.
Operation is simple. Plug it into both vis motors and flick the switch, you can hear the motors working. Or you can do it with them removed too. This way you can actually see them moving. Simples.
NEXT. Pm me your addy whoever is next on the list.

Dan1971 12-09-12 07:36 PM

Star .... Thanks ....

Skillen 15-09-12 12:59 AM

Is there any criteria for these?
I fancy checking my vis motors as I have receipts from the last owner showing that both the balance and power vis valves have been replaced in 2009 and a catch tank added but nothing aboutthe motored and it'd be nice to check them out.
Cheers

waynester 15-09-12 03:31 AM

I think you need to become a site supporter, then...just add your name to the list. :)

I imagine vis valves are the motors. Always worth checking them though

Box of vis testing tricks arrived today.. will hopefully get a chance to play tomorrow & see if mine are working ok. Feels like they are, I always feel a kick at 3k rpm.. we will see.

Just so I'm sure...do I plug the pos / neg leads onto battery & then connect to each vis motor?

Who's next for it, pm address

Cheers

Yes if testing the ones fitted to the car. Mains lead for testing spares. Make sure that whoever you send it on to is a supporter and lets keep the list and who we're sending it to on the main thread. We don't want it going missing. Glad it got to you safe and sound ....

Apologies for not forwarding to next chap, just got back from hol's.

Which is the main thread.. this?

Dan1971 30-09-12 07:23 AM

No mate - they are totally different. That is a kit that you install in your dash, and it tells you if they are working all the time with red or green lights.

This is the thread for people to put up that they are supporters and would like to use Kev's kit.

pucc 30-09-12 08:45 AM

Think this is the latest list.

Just to say I have the tester now.

R8NMG 07-10-12 10:59 AM

Both my VIS motors are whizzing away no problem. Am I the last on the list, I am ready to send the test kit on?

Any takers for this VIS tester before it is going back to KevG?

James Raby 17-10-12 12:04 PM

Would like to test for sure, one assumes the motors need to be out of the manifold etc??

KevG 04-11-12 03:42 PM

Correct the switches exercises the motor and the green LED illuminates when the the ECU feedback switch is operated.

James Raby 04-11-12 04:15 PM

I promise this will be ready for next in line (if any) in a few days...

No, you will pay the postage to send it on to the next person. Glad you received it though.

James Raby 14-11-12 09:39 PM

OK, been a while since I've had some time to test this

The tester has NO power through the plug socket or battery connector - am trying on known working VIS - not a sign of life

Dan1971 23-12-12 10:39 AM

I need this again - who's got it now please ?

Dan1971 29-12-12 11:46 AM
