Not being well known, and being dismissed out of hand for being 'tarted up old rovers' helps us two fold, though;
1. it keeps the used prices as low as possible (admittedly, better for buyers than sellers),
2. it ensures the guy you just burnt off in his BMW 318d (zzz) was surprised.

Is it just being theatrical in rwd powersliding and not reaching fast times on the track or what?

Are they not allowed to praise any of the British fine motors directly - not even newer Aston's, Jags (I know for one thing that Jamie Langton loved the ZS) or is it just their sense of humor making other cars rubbish (German, French, American, etc) and at the end of the show saying that for example Range Rover is the worst car in the world, but at the same time the best car in the world (better than BMW X6 for one thing...)?! What do you think is the point there?

Top Gear actually annoys me now.

We pay ?150 a year for the priviledge to watch BBC channels here and all we get from Top Gear now is 6 episodes a season as their budget from License payers money gets blown so fast from the fact the go to different countries every week!

They used to review all sorts of cars..... I can remember a review of a Fiat Seicento sporting when I started driving..... but now all they do is drive cars that noone can afford to other countries all the time.

I think they should change the name of the show to '3 men f****** around' as thats more appropriate.

Fifth Gear for me every time. Last weeks Fifth Gear had a car I dream about on it.......

Charlie Broomfields 27ltr Meteor engined Rover SD1. I bought mine because of that car and sprayed it matt black too!!!!!

Man, you're totally right. Can't complain about the prices and yes I did burnt off even a 320d ;-) Was possible because I cleaned the maf and got so dramatic results thinking 99% it was remapped by the previous owner so I suspect it has got well over factory horses, or possibly the BMW had some 300k on the clock without the owner knowing it, and some of his horses are dead meat (in Serbia every used car dealer returns the clock under 100k with no legal consequence). The look on his face was very entertaining :-)

At least you get to watch fresh episodes, we're about 4 seasons away :thumbsdown:

I agree it can be costly messing with the army, harbor cranes, cruise ships, aircrafts and going to Australia just to check if the glove compartment works lol :-)

Nope, it's nothing to do with cars no more, it's just for playing around and amusing the audience...

Sure respect Tiff, he knows his motors very well. Clarkson should have been eaten by that SV, if only he did have a nitrous kit:angel:

Would love to see that SD1, knowing what the meteor beast is like...
