tyres

hey! has any one tryed to get wider tyers fitted to a 110 zs ? curantly have 205/40/17 looking at 225 or 235 ? dose any one know if that size wil fit ? profile will still b 40 ??

You will need 7.5" rims to fit those tyres. The 7.0" rims are at their absolute limit on 215 tyres. The mk1 17" rims are 7.0" and the mk2 rims are 7.5".

In order to maintain speedo accuracy you will need to reduce the tyre profile - this is a really good calculator for tyre sizes. You need to keep within around 3% of original tyre rolling circumferance.

standard are 205/45/17 so you have the wrong tyres on anyway

From a performance POV its better to stretch the tyre onto the wheel than to have a wider tyre than the wheel.... I'd stick with 205/45/17's if I were you.

I have 215/40/17's on mine... and IMO the tyres do not perform anywhere near as good as the 205/45/17's I had before!

Do the 215/40/17 make the wheels any more resistant to curbing?

Hell no! My wheels are worse for having the lower profile IMO!!
