noticed a bit of a rumble last fortnight, jacked up etc,no movement, but when you move the wheel, you can hear the rumble noise.
i get payed tomorrow so can order one etc,but its very loud when driving, and having the time to fit it,just worried as im not really off work till the following weekend, whats the worst that can happen, dont want to drive it but have to,is it just gonna make it harder to take off etc,any info welcome, thanks |
Mot fail, worst that could happen is it could fail, sure goldie wouldn't charge much for fitting it

If it is only in the early stages thee shouldn't be much risk but the more it wears the more chance there is of the hub getting worn or the wheel running out of true and getting abnormal tyre where.
How many miles are you likely to do in the next week? |
I have never had a wheel bearing completely fail, just very noisy, very easy job to replace.

Just a matter of taking the disc and pads off and a the big hub nut, easy peazy
|
fingers crossed will give it a go weds then, thanks guys!

Worst case is total collapse of the bearing, but as stated, should not happen overnight. They just get hotter due to extra friction. Should be ok local but avoid any long journeys if I were you.
|
its just getting used locally anyway, thanks for the advise, gets used 15-20 miles per day
