My Volvo decided it no longer liked having a turbo and after 101,000 miles it ate the turbo splines. Que James bond style smoke screen behind me and 20mph max speed when on level ground. Hills? Ha! you can forget climbing up a slight incline let alone a hill. So I needed a car quickly that suited as much of my needs as possible. Here is the replacement :) Attachment 5235Attachment 5236 Obviously its a bit older than I wanted, but it was a lot cheaper (like well under a grand) with over a years MOT and 6 months Tax :) It is a 2.5l V6 Diesel, but is currently returning better MPG than my Volvo did around town and on the motorway. A few small jobs to do, a bit of TLC and she will be a lovely car, mainly around greasing parts due to her only doing 400 miles between the last two MOT's. |
Bargain, great looking car.
Just shows whats out there. :rambo::rambo: :clap::clap: |
I've just been informed by a VW nut that this engine is very tunable and with just a Turbo Change, Injector upgrade and remap I can easily see 300bhp+
Must... Not... Double.. Horsepower... Must... Resist... Urge.... lol Don't worry, its staying standard for now! With only the issues that I purchased it with being fixed this year. (Like wing mirrors needing replaced, missing trim and dead LCD for the heater display) |
Good man. Good car.

Hunt round the local scrappies I reckon.

Good buy, one I would have no question.

Good solid cars - I drove lots when I worked for VAG.
Is that a TDi or a TDi? The red i indicates that it's got the 130 bhp tune over the 110. IIRC it's a simple change in the configaration of the ECU. |

Sorry, my bad, I thought I could read 1.9 TDi in the photo.
|
Its the 150bhp 2.5 v6 diesel... the upper model was 180, so a simple repmap should net me an easy 190 odd apparently and the tuning boxs net 185 according to the literature.
