Difficult, pointless, impossible?
I quite fancy swapping my mkI ZS dash for a mkII item, has anyone done this before? Does it split in two? Is the lower half the same? Are the airbags different?
So many questions! |
I'm pretty sure ZSTurbo has done the very same to his.

Wilko66 has a mk2(ish) dash in his car ;)

Interesting. I'm keen to swap my seats as one of my Monacos has a nasty hole in the bolster so I'd like something a bit newer, similar to the ones in the 'Stolen recovered 180' thread. Whats the quality if the MkII dash like compared to the MkI? I ask because I had a 2004 Rover 25 (facelifted) as a courtesy car on Monday and the quality of that was nothing short of awful. There was a complete MkII dash on eBay a little while ago so I assume they're available now and again.

It isn't great Ads, it is made of rock hard plastic where I believe the MK1 is 'soft touch' however the MK2 looks a lot more modern and how often do you feel your dash?!
|
I like the Mk2 dash, and it's solid enough
I think it looks much better than the 20 year old mk1 dash. It can be done, but I remember from another thread that it is a fairly tricky conversion since the mk2 ZS uses all BMW switch gear |
But my centre console will stay the same won't it?

I just gave Smokey's old dash bits a sand down a respray today, so I might have a spare mk2 dash available soon....... ;)
From what I can see, you need take the entire center console out to attatch the main dash part to it (screws in from behind). Dont think it will be a huge job though - I hope! Might have a bash tomorrow. |
You have a PM
