Hi I've just worked out my mpg.2.5 v6 and it came up with 15.7 I used 20 quid of fuel for 67 miles surly this can't be right any ideas

How have you measured it?

Only sure fire way is to brim it, then record the mileage and petrol you put in the next time that you brim it.

Or - you've been caning it ..... ;)

As per Dan - The only accurate way to measure consumption is tank full to tank full.

The fuel gauge is only a guide.

Nah, lost a couple of receipts, I will go in at some point with some "average dummy receipts".

There are a few genuine 30+ entries including a 37. There are also a couple of 15 mpg....

Modern cars use more fuel coasting in neutral then rolling in gear as the ECU switches off fuel as the engine slows until just above tickover speed.
