Storm prep - the difference between men and women.

Wife ran around the garden panicking and folding everything........then shutting all the windows and the vents on the conservatory and making sure we have plenty of candles and torches...........

I turned my ZS around to reduce the risk of the rare (1 of only 20 ever made) heated screen getting damaged, bought some more rum and some extra fags.

Then when we all wake up in the morning and find there was a slight breeze we'll all feel very silly.

Shed roof peeled off and a collapsed ceiling and very wet utility room! So off work to carry out repairs.

I couldn’t believe the sheer scale of devastation when I looked out the window this morning. certainly makes you appreciate how powerful nature is and how insignificant we are.

lol

One of the daughters has had the flat roof covering ripped off. Front fascia off as well.

Typical, only one in her road that had any damage.

So off to see if we can help do anything.

Hi Ho.

weather woke me up - but it seems i did not suffer from any damage to the house.... not been outside to actually check yet though as it is still foul weather!

daytona365 28-10-13 05:50 PM

No damage at all here, it was when I tried working that the storm caused probs. Loads of big branches down, blocking roads. The M11 had a lorry turn over and blocked so all the traffic had to got the same way I wanted....................
Then once work was over a trouble free wind free rain free walk home..........

talkingcars 28-10-13 06:01 PM

We suffered a bit, there was a very small branch/large twig on the screen of FE54, then there were the starting problems and the last time the ZR was used the passenger window was left a jar so with the wind the whole of the seat got so wet I could actually suck it out with the karcher window vac.

Locally the builders fence on the site next door but one has blown on to next doors regular fence, the same happened on the other domestic side and they lost a couple of sections of the external perimeter fence. Another neighbour lost most of their fence.

Around Horsham there have been several roads blocked by falling trees or flood water. Thankfully I have the week off so I've had no problems there - where did I leave the rum.
