More Airbrushing - Battery Tray

So with the impending MOT (tomorrow in fact) which I knew the ZS would fail due to an insecure battery (amongst other things) I decided to remove the battery tray:

As you can see it is rusty, what you can't really see is the bolt is "welded" in place and the bracket and tray itself have been bent by the previous owner to be able to remove the battery (thanks!) So we decided to strip it down and rebuild it with a bit of Airbrushing, nothing fancy but as its the ECU housing as well, although there is a flip colour sprayed over the top that goes from green to silver to red to orange in the sun (very nice effect that the camera can't show!):

And then fitted it to the engine bay... Now I have a fully working engine tray again with stainless steel nut and bolt to ensure it doesn't seize up again!

Hope you all like :)

Nice touch!

My next de-rusting project is the battery tray, it's awful in mine.

I've still got the old battery tray (I cheated and got a second one to do this) I could get Bex to spray the spare tray up, now its off it wouldn't take much to fix it up properly, and then do a "trade in" type deal on your battery tray if you like? ;) :fishing:

I think if she passes first time tomorrow Im going to be taking a few of the bits n pieces off like the Rad brackets and get her to chrome them (since we have the chrome stuff in at the moment) :D:D

Tempting....although I think my current tray is more rust than metal!

Saying that, mine is a different shape as it's a 4-pot K rather than the V6 :(
