Mpg

Just wanted to share my surprising MPG.

went to my sisters wedding, 100 miles away (each way) i stuck £30.00 in the tank. Red light was just showing.

Done the 200 miles got home still with a little over the petrol light.

worked out i managed 43mpg even on lots of country roads. :)

and no i didn't sit at 10mph all the way :) just stuck to national speed limits :)

You did very well to get that out of a 180!! Best i'v done is 35 mpg over 200 miles of motorway at a constant 70mph. General driving around here I get 27.97 mpg worked out using an mpg app!!

Using http://www.fuelly.com/driver/talkingcars/zs the best I've managed is 30MPG on a long run so 43mpg would be brilliant, sorry to put a dampener on it though, the only really accurate way to measure consumption is brim to brim as the fuel gauge isn't that acurate.

I manage approx 35to 40 when I go up the M1 then A50 to Stoke from Harlow.
I cruise along at 55to 60. The throttle pedal is just so comfy at that angle, so relaxing.
So quiet as well, as he only ticking over at 2500rpm. More time to listen to the stereo!

So sorry to say, that figure CANNOT be correct, there's no way a 2.5 v6 180 can do that mpg!!!

Owned a 180 for 4 years and most I ever got was 389 miles to a tank! Still no where near 43 mpg!

MGR cars are pretty fuel efficent!!!!!!!!! I remember my old Rover 214Sli going from Cardiff back home to Harlow, distance of 186 miles on less than a gallon!!!!

I'm still gonna stick my neck out and say, I can't see it - calculations must be wrong

Agreed, only way to tell is full tank to light come on then tank up
