battery question
me battery has i drain i think or could be the battery has had it
but i charged it up it will take 8amps for about 30mins then drops to a steady 2amps 24hrs later its dead again as its only takes 30mins to charge up would you say that the battery has had it ??? |
Do you have a multimeter or know someone that does, that would probably be the best way to check the voltage of your battery.
Ralph has probably got one if you can get to him? ;) |
How old is it? I think some batteries struggle to make it more than a couple of years.
Yes, I've got a multimeter or 2. I'll be at the garage quite late tonight, so if you want to drop by...
100% battery is now dead lol even when its not connected it will lose its charge breakers yard for me in the morning lol
p.s thank you anyway ralph |
better just to get a new battery rather than a breakers effort, once a battery has gone completely flat theyre usually never the same again,
and to check for a parasytic drain you disconnect the battery earth, and put the mutlimeter between the terminal and the post, and put it on amps setting, when the car is locked and alarm active the drain should be about 0.1A - 0.2A
ok but i dont have a mutlimeter will ask G as he will be paying for it lol if its a new one
the battery will be knacked, £20 or £30 for a new battery trade price anyways
its alive again lol £50 new not bad i thought as the bloke next door just got one for his 45 he paid £80 for his lol
