Ticking Noise...?

I noticed today a faint ticking noise coming from the engine area whilst driving, it was a constant and rhythmic noise, engine was warm after driving 10 miles... no other symptoms apart from this..

I will see if I can isolate the sound a little later one

Any suggestions on what this may be?

did it continue once warm?

Could be purge valve, noisy tappet of possibly a rattly plenum - sounds more like a box of spanners rattling
My money is on purge valve :)

It only happened whent he engine was warm, or maye I only noticed it then?

It was a constant ticking noise, around every 2 seconds or so

Ive seen a few posts about the Purge Valve... is this easy to find on the engine?

Great Diagram, appreciated!

Is there just a part to disconnect from there?

Just a lecky plug to disconnect, if your tapping noise goes away you've joined the noisy purge valve club:laugh:

Thanks for that, will have a check later on after work...

If the purge valve is the culprit, is it something that needs to be replaced and is it easy/cheap to get hold of one?
