Scotland trip
Just got back from a 1000 mile Scotland trip to Fort William. The roads were stunning through the mountains and I think I fell in love with driving again!
Anyway, I was pushing the car quite a bit and was expecting around 30-35mpg. I brimmed the tank on 3 occasions and was very surprised with the outcomes. First run - 366m - 8.18g = 44.74mpg 2nd run - 244m - 6.22g = 39.23 mpg 3rd run - 378m - 8.17g = 46.27 mpg Now, either Im calculating this badly or that K series is just an exceptionally good engine? Just to note, I took the cone filter off and replaced it with the OM airbox for the trip. Heres some pics from the journey. Id recommed the 150 mile strech from Glasgow to Fort Willaim to anyone. http://i23.tinypic.com/1zqsmjb.jpg http://i23.tinypic.com/35j9quu.jpg http://i24.tinypic.com/25pu8wo.jpg http://i22.tinypic.com/2mhyhec.jpg |
Certainly looks like some excellent driving roads, lovely backdrop.

awesome pics! cant beat the scottish country side :D
that first pic of the ZS looks really nice mate, glad you liked it up here :) |
looks good fella, know exactly where all the pics were taken, one is just along from my mates old house! Though its a bit less than 150 glasgow to the fort, think its 106 miles :) A good drive nonetheless, when there isn't loads of traffic especially on lomondside. You should have done the road to the isles too (fort willie to mallaig it's a belter!!) Am quessing you stopped at Glenfinnan?
