Lowering springs ...

20-30mm

For my Mk2 diesel, but 180 ones fit too I think and I've not got pots of dosh either - but if you've got some in the shed, drop me a line.

When searching - are 180 springs compatible ?

Ritchy 30-05-11 06:09 PM

i believe so yes, weight was the factor and believe the l and kv6 are similar weights

Cheers Ritchy ..... And - is it the springs or the shocks that change the ride comfort / bumpiness ?

I can confirm this, I have motobuild springs on my TD and it sits exactly like a 180 would with the same springs. Standard TD / 180 dampers are identical acording to the part numbers on Rimmer bros website so you have nothing to worry about. As far as I know if you want a 35mm drop then motobuild is the only way to go. I havnt noticed any change in comfort or handling for that matter, not that I throw it about. Asthetically though it looks the nuts.

Does anyone know who makes the Motobodge springs?

Everything they do is rebranded with their stickers and the price bumped up!

I would like to go lower but refuse to give them my money unless it's unavoidable!

Rumour has it they are Koni, but having used a set I very much doubt that

Knowing them they're probably Jamex or something, and meant for another car.

You have PM Dan. ;)

I think that the 180/diesel springs are just standard mgr springs cut by moto-build. The 110/120 types they sell are made by p.i. and are actually for the civic.
