Cylinder head cleaning & reconditioning

Got hold of a Ford cylinder head for a test bed for my dissertation, Got to strip it down as it came complete with cams and valves.

Quick question whats the best way to get all the grime off and crap off?

Was thinking of soaking it a degreaser for a day or so, then go over any left of build up with a wire drill bit.

I've seen Nitromors paint stripper recommended, never tried it myself.

Depends if you want to do it yourself or get someone else to do it. I used to use a cleaning tank with paraffin and a brush. I have also used WD40 or equivalent 5 litre tub and clean the rest off.

Do they still sell that, thought they had taken it off shelves as it was too effective....umm I mean potent!

Happy to do it myself, was just going to get a large bucket and a few litres of stuff. Could have it professionally reconditioned but not really worth it.

Just want it clean so it can be handled without getting messy.
