Passed MOT today

Car passed its MOT today, its 8th birthday :)

It needed new pads/discs all-round - it was still on its original discs and perhaps 1 set of new pads over that time. It's done me proud in the brake dept over the last 6.5 years, so can't complain.

Obligatory pic in the sun :)

that is some life out of original disks! Im amazed they've not "gone off" with rust in that time.

well done FTW!!!

Not that I have noticed.

Good news. I do believe mine has the original front discs, due to be replaced early next year as they must be on the wear limit. Rears were replaced a while ago. I have found that OE quality parts wear very well and have never found the need to go aftermarket. However I will admit and say bigger and grooved would look better behind some wheels.

When we were running Transits at work the new ones used to chew through the front disks, when we complained they said it was down to Health and Safety.

No asbestos allowed in the pad material, that used to have the stopping power, so they had to make the disks out of softer material, and thats why they used to knock out so quickly!!!!

Nearly as bad as the, "improved dual mass flywheel"!!!!
