Missing Heat shield

Hi
I went to view a car for my other half and the owner had taken the heat shield off.
What problems would this cause.
I was a bit worried as to what problems if any this would cause.
Cheers

Ah ok, I was thinking the cat heat shield, I don't think it's a great idea removing the manifold heat shield as it does provide a degree of protection from heat damage.

Sometimes they start rattling when they rust so some people just rip them off.

I pulled my ZR's off as it was rattling when I got it.
No problems 10k miles later.
