Manifolds, Decats and all things Lamba

Heres a senario for people....

If you have an aftermarket tubular manifold fitted that doesnt have a hole for a lamba to be fitted so it is left unplugged. Then added to this theres a decat fitted with a lamba post cat.

Guess it would over fueling massively but would fitting a MIL kit to either or both sensors help to retify the signals to the ecu?

Basically would a MIL kit work if fit to the precat sensor?

No, you must have an pre cat sensor... You need a lamda boss put in the manifold pipe or anywhere pre cat.

The pre cat sensor is essential for getting the fueling right, the post cat sensor is just a monster to check the cat is doing it's job, it does this by simply comparing the two. It should see a difference, hence why when you decay, it sees the same, and thinks the cat is no longer working, hence the light comes on.

Yer thats what I thought, guess its a case of drilling the manifold.

Could try extending the sensor wire from the precat one and fit it in the post cat sensor hole, may work a bit better than what its doing at the moment but i'd imagine it'd be a little slow being so far down stream
