AC cold pipe insulation?

Do you think the AC would perform better if the cold pipes were lagged with pipe insulation?

The thinking being that the cold pipes must absorb heat from the hot engine bay and they also condense humidity onto them, therefore warming up the cold pipes and reducing AC performance.

Some of the AC pipes are quite near the front exhaust manifold, so obviously any insulation lagging would need to be something that wouldn't melt or burn.

You could use the same stuff as used on exhausts.
