Saw this - strong money for one with an engine issue.

Recognised the boot decal. Username - "Wildcat" from 2013 - not sure if he sold it someone else on here....

Cheap engine drop it in. Nice car. Colour looks lovely.

What's it worth when up and running?

I'd be pretty certain the engine knock will be 1 and 2 big ends, so an engine swap would be needed

Well, I reckon and I stand to be corrected by recent buyers/sellers but most Mk2s up on there are between £1500-£1800. Dogs or desperate sellers will go for £500 - good forum cars £2500 plus.

It's strong money for a car being sold by a dealer as spare or repairs, imo of course.

I thought similar. Hardly worth the trouble then if it needs another engine and timing belts as well, plus all of the other bits and bobs!

There is a chap on one of the MGF forums by the name of Wildcat45, I wonder if it's the same chap.

Now maybe if there was a nice turbo engine sitting around somewhere .....
