Got my first rolling road day sorted!
On March 6th 2009 the astra site i am also on are having a rolling road day in Kircaldy, Scotland!
I cant wait, never been on one of these before! :D Hopefully i can get a bmc or simota kit on the astra before then, every little helps :) How long does the car go on the rollers for? do they drive it? Sammy |
it takes about 2 minutes. they drive it. proberly insurance reasons. what you hopeing it makes sammy?
|
i dunno, its a 170 but parkers has it at 167bhp.
i just won a bmc cda, so with that fitted i will probably be about 170bhp? id think? |
yea when i did mine they did 3 runs and took the best im doing another at the end off the month and they are doing a 1/4 mile run as well so should be interesting..
i'm hoping for over 300bhp this time we shall see.... |
That at Dastek Sammy? it's in Dalgetty Bay... been there twice myself now (infact there's a thread for one there I'm orginising in Feb if you fancy going to that too!)
They do two power runs and don't drive the car, other than onto the rollers and back out into the carpark I know a couple of the guys that work there and they really know their stuff |
cool, wonder what figure the astra will achieve then?
i had a look at your other meet mate but im working :( |
170 will be the figure in Ps... It's the 'European standard' and is a little higher than BHP.

Had my first RR back in summer and the surprising thing having previously never been to one is the amount of noise the car makes when being revved the nuts off it. It sounds like a jet fighter taking off.

I've done 3 rolling road days. TBH only one of them was done correctly and returned a reasonable figure.
The first day was at Emerald. Mine was the first ZS and I am certain that they still had the tyre size for the MGF in their system, so the power & torque figures were completely wrong. The second day was at B.D. Engineering in Newington. We took 3 cars along to them - a ZT260, my old green ZS180 and the Twilight ZS180. All 3 cars on that day were around 10% down on power by my reckoning. The ZT260 made 236BHP, the green ZS was 163 and the Twilight one 186. The third day was at a rolling road in Essex - I can't remember the name, but I told Phate about them. They did not give flywheel figures, just ATW figures. The Twilight ZS180 made 167.4HP ATW, which equates to around 205BHP. This was the only RR day where they measured the actual tyre size of each car using callipers prior to the car being put on the rollers. |
what does the zs have on it that made 205 atf 167.4 atw
